Rock the Flock

Rock The Flock began in the summer of 2001 at St. Charles Catholic Church in Picayune, MS as a Lifeteen band playing only at the Sunday evening masses. Membership evolved over the next two years with the story of the addition of each band member only being described as Divine intervention. When the group began writing music in 2003, all of the music was being written in the presence of the Eucharist and involved all band members. All songs were therefore a group effort, with the credit belonging to God.

The band has played Mass at numerous churches, non-Catholic services, led many Praise and Worship services, and healing masses. They have also performed at numerous fundraisers and outdoor festivals, retreats and conferences throughout the Mississippi and Louisiana Gulf Coasts. Last year the group recorded its first CD simply titled "Rock the Flock" and is experiencing wider distribution of the music through churches, their web site address, and friends and contacts which are provided by God. The group was honored to have the opportunity to record and assemble the CD in the presence of the Eucharist, enabling the band members to continue to glorify God and acknowledge openly that the music belongs to Him. Rock the Flock is thankful for the gift and the ability to play in His honor.

Rock the Flock was recently invited to play at Christian Youth Rally, Summer Olympics in August 2008 in Beijing, China and is raising funds for the trip. Future plans include a second CD (which has been laid out and is ready to record), Abbyefest 2008, Summer Olympics, more music, and always the gift of praising the Lord through that music.
